Playtech’s CEO, Mor Weitzer, expressed delight that the company has managed to produce such a ‘record-breaking’ performance report for the third-quarter of 2007. Playtech announced revenues of $26.9-million for this quarter – a significant increase from last year’s $14.9-million. Poker revenues for the third quarter also increased by an incredible 266% and were, in fact, higher than revenues that the company managed to pull in before the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act last year. The company’s casino revenues also increased by over 50% since 2006.
Playtech’s Asian sites were particularly profitable, an indication of the state of the online gambling industry. Revenues from Asian-based licensees increased by around 14%, while European licensees followed in a close second by 11%. Commenting on the future, Weitzer said that Playtech expects to see further growth beyond 2007 and said that the company would continue to focus on the Asian and European markets. |
