One year after it was forced to quit the US gambling market because of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, Playtech has proved that it really is unstoppable, after releasing its figures for 2007. The industry leader reported revenues that topped $100-million, with an incredible 86% rise from the previous year’s numbers. These figures are mainly due to the 269% jump in online poker revenues and a 58% increase in online casino revenues. Roger Withers, speaking for Playtech said: “I am pleased to report another strong set of full year results for Playtech with all key performance indicators performing ahead of targets. The Group continues to expand rapidly with increased product development in new geographical markets leading to a number of new significant revenue streams.” Playtech now employs over 650 staff members, and continues to create software that seems to always remain one step ahead of the rest.
