Following the growing success of online poker in Italy, Boss Media, the Swedish online gambling company, has announced that it will be launching an Italian poker network. The project will be a joint venture with Lottomatica Scomesse, a sister site to GTECH. Boss Media has been inspired to launch the Italian network after seeing the successful expansion of Playtech’s own network in the country. So far, Playtech has managed to attract four poker rooms to its network, including Snai, Eurobet and Sisal. The Head of Poker at Boss Media, Per Karlsson said: “The network will initially be for Italian poker players exclusively, but we hope that eventually, legislation will allow us to pool liquidity from the Italian network with our other European poker networks, possibly even with the IPN network hosted outside Italy.”
