Brunson Out of WSOP PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 July 2009

Doyle Brunson, the poker legend who endorses the popular online poker room, Doyle’s Room has exited the World Series of Poker event. The player, who has been a fixed feature of the tournament for over three decades, was eliminated during the first round of the main even at the Rio Hotel in Vegas on Saturday.

Nevertheless, it has not only been bad luck for Brunson. The 75 year old has cashed twice in this year’s series already and earned himself seventh place in the $10K buy in Seven Card Stud Hi Lo event last month. Brunson has company on the Main Event sidelines by the looks of things. 2003 Main Event winner, Chris Moneymaker, was also eliminated on this first day of the tournament.

Play will continue until July 15 when a final table of nine players will be determined. The ultimate winner will play to victory on November 7th, 2009.
