Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, the high stakes online poker player, was dropped from the list of nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame, due to be held on November 7th. Dwan was told that he didn’t quite meet the criteria for the Hall of Fame, which includes gaining the respect of peers. A statement issued by the Governing Council for the Hall of Fame read: “With all due respect to Mr. Dwan, one of the game's most exciting young players, he does not currently meet the criteria for Hall of Fame selection. We wish him well and expect he will again be considered once he has 'stood the test of time.” The list of nominees now includes Barry Greenstein, Mike Sexton, Men Nguyen, Dan Harrington, Scotty Nguyen, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Tom McEvo and Eric Seidel. A panel of 15 living Poker Hall of Fame members and another 15 on a chosen panel will nominate the new entrants.
