Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Dragonfish, the B2B unit of 888 Holdings, announced that it has entered into a new deal with one of South Africa’s biggest gambling groups to provide the latter with a quality online gambling platform. Tsogo Sun Gaming Group will unroll a gambling platform that will incorporate bingo, casino games, sports betting and poker in its first step into the exciting world of online wagering. 888 Holdings share prices jumped on the London Stock Exchange, following the announcement of the deal.

This partnership is the first of many targeted at regulated markets, where Dragonfish's partners operate under local licenses and enjoy the benefits of such regulatory arrangement,“ said the Chief Executive Officer of Dragonfish Gabi Campos.

South Africa has passed various laws pertaining to the legalization of online gambling in the country in the past, but has yet to put a final stamp of approval of this form of entertainment.
