The Poker Players Alliance has sprung a new campaign to get the US government to heed their calls to legalize online poker in the country. The PPA website has published a letter that asks President Obama to recognize their rights to safe and secure poker entertainment on the internet, and the one million PPA members are being encouraged to send the letter to the President. Members are also being asked to prompt their families, friends and acquaintances to send the letter. “This issue is not lost on the American public,” reads the letter. “We made our desire for this liberty known through your Citizen's Briefing Book website. Of the thousands of proposals submitted, support for Internet poker rights was the top technology issue. We have also made our desires known via an online petition addressed to you at www.pokerpetition.com that now has over 375,000 signatures.” The letter also calls for the return of funds seized in recent months that were due to be paid out to online poker players as winnings.
