Sunday, November 1, 2009

Italian remote gaming service provider, Microgame, has signed a lucrative deal with Net Entertainment which will see it take delivery of the latter’s quality CasinoModule product. This will allow Net Ent to enter the Italian gambling market which is in the process of regulation.

“Gambling is huge in Italy and is expected to generate a Gross Gaming Yield exceeding 17 Billion Euro in 2009, making it the country’s third largest industry”, said Johan Öhman, Chief Executive Officer of Net Entertainment. “In light of this, it is obviously extra encouraging that one of the dominant incumbents selects Net Entertainment as their strategic casino partner thereby giving us a substantial footprint in a totally new market.”

Microgame currently shares 25% of Italys poker market and 28% of the country’s sports betting market.  Microgame customers generated nearly €500 million in gross gaming revenues during the course of last year.
