This is the time of the year when the world taps in to the most celebrated shows of all time – American Idol. This song contest manages to attract record viewings year after year, and this year is no exception. Voting on the program will begin this weekend, after the latest elimination round, when the top 12 singers will be left standing and the competition REALLY begins.

Last year’s show caused quite a few upsets, with Adam Lambert, the firm favorite to take the title, being conquered at the last moment by Kris Allen. It is important to remember that when the voting began in the last season, Allen had odds of 60-1 posted on him – which proves that absolutely anything can happen!
