FanDuel marked an important milestone in its efforts to position itself as a leading sports betting provider in the rapidly-growing US market.
On Friday, the renowned operator opened its first permanent sportsbook at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
Thanks to this move, FanDuel is going to be ready for March Madness, which is scheduled to start on Thursday. During the three weeks of the college basketball tournament, sports betting operators across the US will see the busiest time of the year.
Set to Make the Most out of March Madness
The last year’s edition of the event was canceled due to the coronavirus. That’s why experts believe we can look forward to a rise in betting activity this year.
The Atlantic City property is owned by Bally’s Corporation, which bought the popular gambling venue from Caesars Entertainment Inc. in 2020. FanDuel and Bally’s Corporation have already worked together. In early last year, the two sides joined forces to launch an online betting product in Colorado.
FanDuel opened a temporary sportsbook at this property in late 2020. While the Atlanta facility was owned by Caesars, it featured a betting facility operated by William Hill.
The Permanent Operation Should Be Beneficial for Both Sides
Although the sportsbook was temporary, the plans included opening a permanent operation once the construction of the facility was completed. The newly-launched sportsbook is situated near the casino’s northern entrance. In addition to several self-service betting kiosks, two large video walls are set up to greet customers.
Inside the facility, there are two ten-foot-wide LED video walls and the main 25-foot one. Players will be able to fully enjoy their experience thanks to another ten video displays located across the sportsbook.
To place bets, customers can use any of five betting windows or twenty self-service betting kiosks operated by IGT.
The newly-opened facility features a broad offering of food and beverages. Visitors can enjoy local and craft beers, as well as a large selection of cocktails. FanDuel’s Atlantic City facility is the operator’s fifteenth retail sportsbook operating in the United States.
Commenting on the sports betting operator’s newest launch, Senior Director of Operations at FanDuel, Andrew Kleiman, said it was a privilege to work together with Bally’s Corporation. He explained the excitement of being a part of the legacy of Atlantic City, and the fact the new facility is close to the Boardwalk set up a distinctive atmosphere for their customers to enjoy.
President and CEO of Bally’s, George Papanier, said his company was thrilled to enter Atlantic City’s gaming market. He pointed out that through the FanDuel partnership, they would be able to deliver a memorable sportsbook experience right off the Boardwalk.
FanDuel continues to increase its presence across the US, with the one in Bally’s Atlantic City being their fifth one. In addition to the latest sportsbook, Bally’s has facilities in Rhode Island, Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Colorado.
