Golden Nugget Sets Online Casino Revenue Record in New Jersey

New Jersey’s regulated on-line gambling market set a new revenue record in January, while the Golden Nugget smashed its personal person operator income record.

Figures released Wednesday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) show the state’s on-line gambling licensees generated combined revenue of just under $22m in January, 16.7% higher than exactly the same month final year and topping the prior market record of $21.7m set in March 2017.

January’s gains came despite a truly sucktastic month for online poker income, which was basically flat from December 2017’s total but down 16.6% year-on-year to just $1.95m. The market’s poker nadir came last June, when the vertical managed to produce only $1.73m.

Meanwhile, the dependably juiced-up casino vertical enhanced 21.4% to just over $20m, which all by itself was sufficient to extend the market’s general $20m+ income streak to 11 consecutive months.

The Golden Nugget’s family members of on-line gambling sites (GoldenNuggetCasino.com, BetfairCasino.com and PlaySugarHouse.com) also set a new person operator revenue record with $7.3m, the very first time any individual operator’s monthly total has topped $7m and blowing past the Nugget’s previous very best of $6.25m set last July.

The Borgata family of sites won the race for (a very distant) second location around the revenue chart with $4.15m ($3.5m casino, $626k poker), whilst Resorts Digital Gaming and its PokerStarsNJ.com website jumped into third location with just below $3.9m ($3.07m casino, $817k poker).

Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey placed fourth with $3.35m ($2.85m casino, $507k poker), barely fending off a challenge by the Tropicana’s casino-only sites at $3.27m.

New Jersey’s on-line market expects to get a bit much more crowded this year using the launch of two new licensees. Hard Rock International, that is presently remodeling the Trump Taj Mahal casino in to the Difficult Rock Atlantic City, announced this month that it had teamed with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) on an in-development on-line gambling platform that will arrive sometime in 2018.

AC Ocean Stroll, who are transforming the $2.4b white elephant Revel into the Ocean Resort Casino, have a cope with technologies provider GAN to launch a new Jersey real-money gambling site by mid-year.
