Pennsylvania has recorded exceptional growth in gaming revenue for September 2021. The figures amount to $415.7m, outdoing the period in 2020 by 45.6%. They have topped the $400m figure six times in the last seven months, showing the industry is alive and kicking. The statistics demonstrate the state garners more income from players than in previous years. Experts say the iGaming and sports betting industry will continue to grow and mature.
Parx Casino has recorded the greatest profit, accumulating $57.2m. Hollywood Casino came second with nearly $56m, while Rivers Casino in Philadelphia has generated about $48m. Retail slots have contributed the most to the total revenue, with almost $199m. The revenue from 2020 amounts to $157.4m. Parx has accumulated the biggest amount this year, with $33.5m, Wild Creek in Bethlehem being close behind with $23.3m. Moreover, table games have collected $84.1m, and online slots have garnered $68.6m.
iGaming and Sports Betting Surge
The iGaming revenue has recorded a boost of 71.5% compared to 2020. With the sum of 97.8m, it’s a 9-million jump from the previous month. Hollywood Casino has generated the largest amount ($38.6m), and Rivers Casino is the second with $26.7m. Valley Forge Casino has come in third with the iGaming revenue of $15.8m. Sports betting is also on the rise, recording the statewide profit of $578.7m, with Philadelphia accumulating $28.3m. A little over $21m has come from online sports betting.
Valley Forge Casino sportsbook has recorded the biggest sports betting revenue with $14.4m. The handsome amount represents a boost of 425.6% compared to the last year, leaving other operators far behind. Rivers Casino brands take second and third place with locations in Pittsburgh ($2.4m) and Philadelphia (2.2m). Valley Forge has collected two-thirds of the entire online sports betting amount ($14m), with DraftKings-powered Meadows Hollywood Casino garnering $2m and Rivers Pittsburgh $1.3m.
Impressive Statistics for the State of Independence
September 2021 has recorded the second-best gaming revenue performance by Pennsylvania. The only month that has garnered more revenue from gaming in the state was July 2021. Customers coming back to the land-based venues also means significantly enhanced profit for the Pennsylvania casinos. The in-person play has flourished, but online gaming is also on the rise. If we look at the slot machines in fifteen casinos, they have accumulated revenue increased by 26% compared to 2020. Additionally, the total GGR from table games has grown 42% during the same period.
The other gaming options in Pennsylvania have also performed well in September 2021. Daily fantasy sports and video gaming terminals have recorded significant revenue. While the former has remained at the figure of $3.2m from 2020, the latter has generated $3.4m. It represents a 43-percent climb compared to 2020. Nevada is comfortable in the first place when it comes to US gaming, with Pennsylvania and New Jersey vying for silver. New Jersey has won easily in September 2021 with total revenue of $453.6m.
