Londoner Macao

Integrated resort developer and operator Sands China Ltd, part of Las Vegas Sands, has announced that the launch of the first part of the phased opening of its The Londoner Macao resort for February 2021.

Until now, the launch date wasn’t specific and was estimated to be in “early February”, but now we know the date of the first stage launch of the $1.9 billion reimagining of the Sands Cotai Central property.

The opening would be progressive throughout the year. The all-suite and newly-branded Londoner Hotel (with 14 exclusive suites by David Beckham), Crystal Palace atrium, new dining options and interactive London-themed attractions are all set to open in Q1 2021. There will also be a new 6000 seat arena called the Londoner Arena.

The Londoner Macao will strive to deliver an authentic British experience to its visitors, which includes The Londoner Macao’s service culture, the Forbes service standard, product and service knowledge, as well as British culture and history. The Crystal Palace, a spectacular space at the heart of the integrated resort, will stage a six-minute Changing of The Guard, that will be performed several times every day by over 20 talented artists.

The main facade of the property will recreate the architecture of The Houses of Parliament, with a replica of Big Ben. It will feature a British styled restaurant named Churchill’s Table and a gastropub by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The Londoner Hotel has began to accept room reservations from 15 December 2020 for availability from 22 January 2021, in time for the Chinese New Year vacations, and the nightly rate for a suite at the hotel for two people is as much as $709.

The gambling facilities won’t change significantly and will largely remain the same as they were in the Sands Cotai Central. It has two themed casinos, Himalaya and Pacifica, with over 17,000 square meters of gaming space, with 200 table games and 1,700 slot machines. An upgrade is hinted, and there might be up to 450 table games and 2,000 slots.

This is Sands China’s third themed resort on the Cotai Strip, alongside The Venetian Macao and The Parisian Macao. The launch is almost a year late as the progress was stalled due to COVID-19.
